Security and surveillance in Los Angeles

Purpose-built security and surveillance for Los Angeles County and the Westside.

LA security installs blend luxury estate expectations (gate intercoms, LPR, access control) with hillside operational reality (PSPS-tolerant cameras, cellular-failover NVR access, fire-hardened equipment locations). Malibu, Bel Air, and Palisades projects commonly deploy 20+ 4K cameras with license-plate recognition on the primary driveway.

Matrix Digital Systems dispatches from our Fountain Valley studio to Los Angeles County and the Westside — including Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Hollywood Hills, and Brentwood. We handle camera coverage design, NVR sizing, access-control layout, gate intercom integration, and mobile-app configuration with two-factor authentication. Engagement range for security and surveillance in Los Angeles is typically $20,000–$250,000+.

Questions answered

Los Angeles + security and surveillance — frequently asked.

Do you deploy license-plate recognition on gated LA estates?

Yes. Axis LPR cameras integrated with the gate access-control system are standard on gated Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and Malibu properties — recognized vehicles trigger opens, and unknown vehicles are logged and reviewed.

How do you handle camera and NVR resilience during PSPS?

Every LA install includes generator or battery-backup on the surveillance NVR and cameras — so during a Public Safety Power Shutoff, recording continues without interruption. Cellular-backup network access lets you view cameras remotely even when utility internet fails.

Can you integrate DoorBird for Malibu gate intercoms?

Yes. DoorBird and 2N intercoms integrate with Crestron and Savant, so the front-gate call rings on interior touch panels, mobile devices, and matches the automation's scene structure. Video from the gate camera appears alongside the intercom call.

Do you install smart locks and gate intercoms?

Yes. Smart locks from SALTO, Yale, and August; gate intercoms from DoorBird, 2N, and Aiphone. Both integrate with the whole-home automation platform, so lock status and gate activity appear on touch panels and in the mobile app.

Are your cameras cloud-based or local?

Local by default. We record to an on-site NVR from Ubiquiti, Axis, or a dedicated Luma appliance, with optional encrypted cloud backup. You keep control of your footage and don't pay a monthly cloud fee just to see it.

Can the surveillance system be viewed offsite securely?

Yes. Every install includes secure mobile app access with two-factor authentication, and cameras appear on in-home Crestron and Savant touch panels. We do not use consumer-grade port forwarding.
